The way it works for me is that the last screen size that I shut down is the size of the new screen that opens up. Unless I shut it down on my secondary screen, then the new one comes deformed.

So there may be a setting for that under folder options, but I ain't sure.

In WinME you go to ControlPanel/FolderOptions/View and select Remember each folders view settings. Then, once you have closed a window that is maximized the next one will be likewise.

Windows 98 FE and SE have a similar "Options" choice -- I think in "Tools", but I haven't used these versions for a long time and my memory is short.

itsmeeh, I don't want to seem too harsh but finding out the version of any software its one of the most basic things anyone should know.

Just go to help and click on the "aboutxxx" link. Where xxx is the name of the software you're using. Some crude programs without a help link will still have the "aboutxxx" under file or another link on the toolbar.

Same goes for the "Options" link. Just click all the links on the toolbar at either IE or WindowsExplorer and you will find the link. Then you can follow emjem's directions.

These are baby steps, you should do it on your own. Most people get irritated when the person asking for help isn't willing to look around first before calling for help. Be curious.

Ok, ok. Sorry for nagging.

IE5 doesn't have folder options.

So go to WindowsExplorer/tools/FolderOptions/View/RememberEachFolders'sViewSettings(third choice from bottom) and make sure you have an x inside the box.

If that doesn't do the trick, I'm sorry for having wasted your time.
