So a coworker and I had a discussion today about how we could explain a commercial to a poor, malnourished Ethiopian (or other famine struck 3rd world nation).
The commercial is the one where the lady says "How can we charge $168 a bottle for these diet pills? Because they work!"
First off... $168 is more money than the Ethiopian would make in a year and maybe a lifetime.
Second, as Americans, we have too much food and we eat too much of it. We eat so much that we need to spend additional money on pills to counteract our eating.
I just think the concept would be hard to explain to a villager from a famine struck 3rd world nation. That is all.
That is your thought of the day from me.
