The numbers? No clue. They mean nothing. IIRC, I tried registering fatpat on a site and it was unavailable, and gave me 268 as a viable result. I took it and used it.

A little bit of both. It started off as an insulting one, but I never really took it as an insult.

What can you expect from 4th graders? 😀

By the time I hit 7th grade or so, the nickname lost most of it's meaning (I was still fat though, heh).

I showed up to swim practice the first day as a high school freshman with embroidery across my Speedos that said "PAL SWIM". Someone asked if that was my name, and even though it had nothing to do with my name, the nickname stuck.

Now, since nobody calls me that any more, it's a nice divider between my Internet persona and real life.
 
Back in 2002, I hosted a LAN party. I SUCKED at Unreal Tournament, and thus adapted my playing style to suit. I used melee weapons to attack those with rocket launchers and adopted suicide tactics. I adopted the mantra MovingTarget so as to taunt everyone.

It was the Golden Age of gaming on the SNES and Final Fantasy 4, 5, and 6 in their prime (before it turned to riced out crap) when I was exposed to the internet. Exdeath, the name which is a contraction of "exceeding death", is the supernatural antagonist of FF5. At the time I played it, was in Japanese on the SNES, years before it was ever translated or released in the States in any form, and I was pretty stoked to get to experience it.

It started with the very first random java web chat where I typed in an online alias for the first time. Somehow it just stuck, I'm a sucker for consistency.

Other names I use frequently are Kahran/Kahr and Krelian, mostly for game characters. The Xenogears saga was a pretty moving experience for me... one expansive philosophical story for a mere PS1 game. It ranks with Shakespeare's best. (see sig for Xenosaga, only spiritually related to and not to be confused with the original and far superior Xenogears). Nearly all my online game characters are named after Xenogears/Xenosaga characters.

Being an astronomy buff, Jupiter is my favorite planet.
When I got my first ISP account, I picked "jupiter" for my username.
Used jupiter for most everything online until I joined here at AT. "jupiter" was taken, so I added my birth year (57).
Been jupiter57 everywhere ever since.
