One of my early nicks (1995ish) was "Homegrown" on the T.E.N. network. (after a bike, not the herb). I was (am) a Homer/Simpsons freak and I normal hung out online with a guy named Goreboy. WT, short for WalkinTarget. I started my online gaming in the Quake 1 world, and at the beginning I was using a gamepad (yess, I know .. don't even bother insulting me ..) and getting severely trounced.

Finally a guy who usta beat me into the ground in online DM convinced me to ditch the pad and go mouse/KB. It took me a few hours of running into walls looking at my feet, but within a month I ran into him again and actually beat him in a DM match !!

Name stuck, as its followed me thru my UT99, Wolf:ET, TF2 and CoD 4 online addictions.
Someone comments on it about once a month when I do something dumb in-game

PS - I left the 'g' off of Walking because Quake truncated the name to 12 characters.
