It's the name that's been given to the oldest male child in every other generation of my family, dating back as far as I know.

Mantis Fist = a Traditional Chinese bareknuckle boxing style that I practice.
Monk = I'm the type who needs every incentive I can get to remain humble and unbiased.
So I try to throw in things like that in whatever I do to remind me to be a better person.
Also monk relates to shaolin relates to the style of boxing relates to this that and the other etc.
Anyways, I'm trying to change my name.
Anyone want to tell me how?

Calling yourself a "Monk" is a bit . . . tacky, esp. done in earnest, IMO.
Anyhow, you have to email/message the mods to petition for a new name.

Actually, Traditional Grand Ultimate Plum Blossom with a touch of 7* and other Northern Styles.
Then the off-shoots, such as Western and Russian Boxing (in Russia the bags punch you) and Muay Thai.
Like I said, the monk is just thrown in there to remind me to be humble is all really.
If you have actually looked into what these monks do, then it is an understatement to say that they are an inspiration to be non-judgemental, humble, open minded and kind etc.
Regardless, I'm pretty impressed and shocked you actually knew what I was talking about.
