No guild hall or guild town,no personal house,if they can sort these things out then the game could be a lot better,

If you want to play house, check out The Sims.

I don't like Sims, however SWG did have a great guild/housing ,transport community until NGE came.

Consider yourself lucky I had a friend who was "traped" by the game and never leaves his house anymore other then his job. WoW is crack to some people it can be very dangerours.

WoW isn't dangerous by any stretch of the imagination. Those people that barricade themselves in their house have problems unrelated to the game, but that's a whole different thread. ;)

I think your still in the training phase. Apparently it gets better after that.

Game wasnt for me either. Got to level 9 on a guest pass and quit before it was up.

You could always go the Butters route and try Hello Kitty Island Adventure...

What would be a good fun class to start out with. "FUN" being not just smashing the same attack every 5 seconds.

be glad you don't like it, like people who don't get much pleasure from alcohol you are protected from becoming an alcoholic;)

i don't see the point of level grind games either, waste of time.

its popular because it values time over skill.

Rogues are kinda fun... so many abilities, and you'll use different ones depending on your talent choices. You might either be a stealthy one that slips in and attacks the target from behind, using abilities to stun them and constantly moving around behind them to use attacks that do burst damage. Or you might be a brute that walks in and does such high sustained damage that you can go toe to toe with a plate armor wearing class like a warrior or paladin.

Shaman can be fun too... you can choose talents that focus on magical DPS, melee DPS, or healing.

A priest can be fun too... you can be in the minority and go with a Holy DPS build, or you can go with the Shadow tree and have quite a bit of fun "melting faces."

Druids are a lot like Shaman because they're both utility classes... you can choose talents for healing, magical DPS, or melee DPS/tanking.

those things will add nothing to the game. they need more things to do once you hit max level, not another area to just stand around in.

it seems like all there is to do is pvp grind or raid grind. neither of which are fun. i'm not sure how much the expnasion fixed that but i doubt it did anything except add 10 more levels. once you hit 70 its probably still the same crap over and over.

I know that in SWG it added a real sense of being in a guild rather the very weak version you have in WoW.Any person that has played SWG and been in a guild knows what I mean. I have played a lot of MMORPGs and have yet to find one that was as much fun as SWG Pre CU,shame they ruined it with NGE and copied a few things from WoW.

Rogues are one of the classes that I suggest to people starting out as they aren't nearly as painful to level as warriors yet they offer better damage.

I noticed the OP said he played a warlock until level 11... well, Warlocks don't become much fun until about 30-ish and that's kind of true for most classes as you don't have many talents yet nor do yo have many skills/spells.

Also, my idea of fun in WoW is probably vastly different from most. I enjoy doing things I was never designed to do solo. Killing an elite by myself.. I always enjoy that. One thing I try to do with every class is solo the first elite mob you have to fight (The wendigo in Dun Morogh, Hogger in Elwynn and the Bog creature in Teldrassil). Figuring out how to do this with each class is what makes it fun for me and the thrill of doing the unthinkable (I guess you could put it that way).

Here's my class break down as far as a beginner is concerned (early level soloing)

Warrior: easy to get the hang of, but not very interesting
Priest: somewhat difficult until you get face melting, at which point they are powerful but boring.
Rogue: fun all around, you can stealth, do good damage, and try out different combos and stuns
Hunter: The most boring class of all once you get your pet, just sit there and autoshoot. Very easy to play however.
Paladin: more of an advanced class, for beginners are also fairly boring.
Warlock: Very powerful class, once you learn some advanced techniques. Can be boring similar to a priest if you don't challenge yourself.
Mage: very fun class to play, but prone to dying a lot so can be frustrating.
Shaman: Similar to warlocks, in that they can be fun if you use advanced techniques but are boring otherwise.
Druid: a varied class that gives you lots of options to try out, but at low levels aren't very powerful.

So I would suggest rogue or mage.

... until you start raiding. Hunters who hit autoshot and go take a piss are horrible, horrible Hunters. It takes skill and awareness to really play a Hunter effectively in raids and even groups. There's a Hunter in my guild I'd rather have with me for CC than most Mages.

Mage: very fun class to play, but prone to dying a lot so can be frustrating.

Again... Mages who die often are very crappily played Mages. Part of being a DPS class is being able to control your DPS, and that's really the only reason a Mage should accidently die in a group. Soloing with a Mage is no different than any other class... they have ways to deal with an accidental add, and sometimes all it takes is one add to kill you, as with every class.

Jeff, I believe he's talking about leveling here, not raiding and such. He's also correct, when it comes to simple grinding quest mobs and such, a hunter can be fairly easy and literally you can just turn autoshoot on and go make a sammich.

Yet again, we're talking about leveling. You won't always have a tank for you and have you tried playing a mage when you're fighting in a cave? I can't even count how many times I died in the Wendigo cave in Dun Morogh near Kharanos... fortunately I wised up pretty quickly and just killed mobs on the outskirts of the cave :p.

It is good to note that if you play a warrior first, you'll usually be alright, but if you play a warrior after a rogue, you may end up getting annoyed at how much easier rogues are and how much harder things can be in a pinch situation or how much easier 1v2 is on a rogue. You'll learn that fighting green mobs is much easier than yellow :p.

True, eventually you get to the point where you can walk away from your PC and be just fine. I did it plenty of times while leveling my priest... came back to my priest, mob dead.. full health and mana.

Probably one of the top classes to play. Even for a new player, they offer a lot without having to know some of the tricks of the class. They also provide an exit (Vanish, Blind, Sprint) if you make a mistake.

Well this depends on what you do... on my Hunter, I prefer fighting mobs that are orange or red con just to see if I can do it. This kind of goes back to my talk about challenging myself rather than going ezmode.

Well, it's really that you don't need to do much to succeed. You're a warrior with a little bit less damage who can heal himself. You also have great survivability, but not on par with a rogue.

It is also good to note that they are practically the kings of soloing; along with hunters, there's very little they cannot solo.

Shamans really give a giggle when you get huge Windfury crits ;).

Definitely the issue... at low levels (which is what we're looking at) the druid won't be as powerful as other classes.

I love the game, been playing since beta phase 1 and still love every minute of it. MMORPG's are always nothing but kill/quest/get loot. If that doesn't interest you then no MMORPG probably ever will.

The PvP aspect of MMOs is generally what's interesting. That and a good user community helps. I prefer caster-type classes because kiting isn't as boring as hack and slash...

Just as an FYI..

I double swear I'm not trying to be rude here, it's just the facts..

If you don't dig WoW, I'm not really sure Blizzard or the other players care. There are 9 *million* people playing it right now so they appear to have something right.

I would encourage you to give it more of a try than just a 10 day pass. Unless you are playing some hardcore hours every day (which I would *not* encourage) you aren't going to see enough of the game in 10 days to come anywhere even close to "getting it".

Grab a 1-3 month membership and you'll figure out what everyone thinks is great about it.

Agreed. You can't just pick it up for a day and think it's crap. You have to keep playing it. I did the 1 month membership(free pass from a friend). I tried it out and decided it wasn't for me.

However, before that I was on FFXI for a little over a year. Started slow, but picked up pretty quickly after about a month. After that I loved it. Later though I didn't have time. School and real life came into play so had to deal with those.

I have time now though, and I'm skipping on WoW and giving Lord of the Rings Online a go now. Just purched it yesterday, going to the store tomorrow to pick it up(comes out tomorrow yay!). I will be giving this a couple months to see if it's any good.'

Bottom line: 1-2 weeks isn't enough for anyone to crap on an MMO.

OH! I also still have Guild Wars and play from time to time. That's only because it's free though. :)

I agree with Smilin that the game is way too large to be seen in a couple days. But also, if you really don't have fun with it then I wouldnt bother. I keep coming back to WoW because I enjoy it, but I can't spend that much time on it so I'm still a pretty low level, but I still have fun. I would suggest giving pvp a try too though. It is by far my fav thing in that game. 19 BG's are a waste of time though, they're flooded by twink who have 2k life and crusader enchants and such. 29 isn't as bad so if you can I would try that.

BTW, I never did crap on it...just decided it is not for me. At least it is not for me if nobody I know is playing it. So far, I have done everything soloing with no end in sight.

had a 70 druid 70 warrior 60 priest 60 hunter 60 warrior 53 warrior 42 druid 43 shaman 40 priest 39 warrior.........and i'd suggest not playing.

"End Game" = 3-5 hours+ a night or your character honestly does not advance or get better at all.

It sounds like you were looking for goals in the game where the real goal is just to advance and keep doing so... although snapper is right where once the sparkles stop clouding your vision, you realized end-game WoW is incredibly boring and the same thing. It's usually not as bad if you're an originator of end-game content, but most people just read up on what everyone else says to do.

Yes... I have a level 67 Frost Mage. The only time I ever die soloing is when I'm AE grinding 4-5 mobs at a time, or an elite that's immune to the slowing effect from my Frost Bolts.

Stay the hell away from any game that requires a serious time commitment. At that point they change from games of pleasure into priority hobbies that take away from personal development.

That game consumed me for a year. Don't start if you like to be the best at what you do.
