Explain to me why Kingston ram got these bad reviews

I was reading revies on Newegg about s stick of 512 3200 DDR from Kingston and a lot of people were saying that it would never run at 3200 and would bump down to 2700 or something. Anyone else having this problem? I was going to pick some up to replace my Crucial, but after reading this im not so sure...can you confirm this? reviews

Thats their value ram and run at cas3 at PC3200. Also they use market ram to make that so SOME 2700 chips may have gotton in the PC3200 line.
Their HyperX is great though. You get what you pay for when it comes to ram

yeah they've had their good and bad products
recently tho (above pc3200) they have been doing a pretty good job
lotsa people like their hyperx stuff

just stay away from the stuff with cl3 or crippled timings

so many people buy the Asus A7N8X variations, a few models of them have known problems running 200fsb even though they have support of it(i've experienced it first hand). i'm willing to bet thats partly the problem and people are blaming the ram.

You should set Mem timmings in bios manualy if you are going to try that, especially if you are running dual channel mode.

I haven't heard of a flawless RAM before. If you get a bad stick, RMA! Generally Kingston/Crucial/Corsair are very good at there rated speeds.

Explain to me why Kingston ram got these bad reviews

Uhh...its a free-for-all type review system that anyone can participate in. Generally any 'end user rating/review' system is going to be replete with your entire spectrum of the public, including people who will try cramming 184-pin DDR modules into 168-pin SDRAM sockets, breaking pins and gouging traces, then write a horrible review of the module because 'I booted my motherboard and it started smoking. This RAM killed my computer!'

Used toilet paper contains more valuable substance than end-user reviews that are open to the masses.

Whatever you do, don't buy either Kingston's or Corsair's Value ram. If you can't afford Kingston HyperX or Corsair XMS, then get yourself either some of this: Buffalo Tech. PC3200 or this: Kingmax PC3500.

i have 512 megs of valueram. i run it at 400 mhz with a cas of 2.5. i've had no problems with it so far. some people probably just got bad ram and they should've rma'd it.

My personal fav goes something like this:

"I bought this [insert component type] because the price was right. I heard nothing bad about [insert manufacturer] so I figured there would be no problem. WRONG! My computer wouldn't boot after installing it. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure what was wrong. Ultimately, I had to clear the CMOS, set my FSB and RAM clock back to their rated speed (they were only overclocked by 30%). Then it booted ok, but I was getting all sorts of glitches and freezing in Windows, so I had to reduce the core/mem on my video card (they were only overclocked by 30%). Got everything back to 'spec' [yawn] and stability is perfect, but I can't overclock a stitch over 15% using this [insert component type]. So I bought [insert Super Ultra-X Platinum Rated component type] by [insert manufacturer] and that solved everything. It only cost 100% more than [insert manufacturer and component type]. So I'm giving this product only one star out of five."

I have recieved every Kingston rebate I have sent in 6 total.

I have a couple Kingston Value Ram pc2700 that run 200mhz just fine.

never had a problem with any Kingston ram I have used yet....

if you get a product from a vendor that doesn't work at spec...return it.. period, end of story

you can and will eventually get a bad part if you are just unlucky or buy a lot of stuff.

I like Crucial ram they are a well established company and their stuff works. But that being said I just sent a 512 of Crucial pc2700 back for RMA this morning, completely painless process by the way. The other 8-10 sticks of Crucial that I have in systems are fine, but they may die one day too. But I know that Crucial will take care of it if there is a problem.
