OK, I know a bunch of you are gonna cry BS, but I've got :camera:!
My machine is a xp-m@2.5 + 9800p-->xt@450/365. My brother's is a A64 3200 + 6600gt, everything @stock. We both have 1gig of RAM. I ran 3dmark05 on both, using the default IQ settings for everything. Look at the screenshots below

9800p OC

6600gt

I know my score of 2900 is close to what I was expecting to get, but how come his score is lower? I saw a bunch of you peeps posting scores like 3800 using a 6600gt, how come his only gets 2700? Are you lowering your IQ settings, or is there something wrong with this 6600gt?

I'm not going to cry BS, you might be a little faster at a synthetic bench. His card is faster for gaming though.

that's OC'd a lot. My card can only hit 470/405, which is actually good for a 9800 pro, but I still think a 6600GT would be faster in real gaming. Still pretty funny to see. Nice comparison lol....made me laugh a bit.

that's not right. my 6600 (non-gt) gets 3200 when oc'ed to about gt's core speed but still less memory speed.
so, a real 6600gt should get at least 3600.

And you're using default IQ settings in the driver, right?

Did he install motherboard chipset drivers? Did he have a ATI card previously and upgrade to the 6600 GT w/o doing a clean reinstall of drivers? Lots of factors involved in how he got a sub-par score.
