So Jesus was around Nazereth and Jerulsalem.

So how come the Pope is in Rome? How did Rome become connected with the Middle East?

Which is in Rome. What is now Israel was part of the Roman Empire back then. I don't recall how the Bishop or Rome became the head of the Catholic church, but they say Peter was the first Bishop of Rome, and Jesus said "on this rock I build my church." Peter's name means rock, so they interpret that as meaning Peter was the head of the early church ipso facto POPE.

I have no idea what I'm talking about. ;)

Here's your answer:

Vatican City is still its own city/country with borders so technically the Pope isn't in Rome.

it would be dangerous to put the pope in nazerath/jerusalem now. before, it was because rome was the head of the superpower and most important city in the world.

So why didn't the Pope stay in Nazerath before?

If that's the case, why doesn't the Pope stay in the USA? More specifically, NYC if you're looking for the most important city?

It wouldn't be safe to put the Pope in NYC either. Someone would find a way to fly a plane into him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the pope has been around a bit longer than NYC :)

he originalyl setteled in rome for the above reasons. now he stays there for political stability, and tradition. catholicisim has turned very tradition based and conservative over the years.

Now that every Christian is trying to be a better one around this time of the year, I also have a question for them. Why did Jesus die on Good Friday if he is God? God doesn't "die", right?

according to the bible he is part god part man and is capable of the fallacies of the fleash borene body and thus he died. now since he's part god, he was risen form the dead and ascended into the kingdom of heaven after walking around and talking to his old disiples for 40 days(40 is a important number in the bible for some reason).

Well isn't Jesus son of God? You wouldn't be your own son...unless you live in Dixie.

Jesus isn't God. Wow.

arent they technically the same person/thing, called the holy trinity???

From what I know about Christianity, Jesus IS God. Ok, so he's the "son" of God ... doesn't that make him "God" as well since he's the son of such a powerful being...?

And if the above is true, and he is God, then who is the real God ... or is God his own son ...

How can someone be "part" God? God by His nature is omnipotent, omniscient, free from all human limitations, free from ANY limitations because He is the one who sets the limitations for the physical world.

If a human being is part God, then that means that God is also part human which can't be true for the reasons above...
