Smell > expiration date. I wouldn't eat it unless it's well cooked. Processed cheese smelling bad is not a good sign, though.

When in doubt, throw it out.

If it was sealed and it isn't visually molding and doesn't smell/taste bad, I'd probably eat it.

I voted no, but either way, it's better to buy some cheese for like $3 than potentially shitting your brains out for a day or so.

Ill go with no. Does the risk of getting sick outweigh the possibility of buying another shitty cheese for a few bucks that's fresh? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I remember a few years back when I ate that old infected curry chicken spring wrap at a coffee shop for 6 bucks and got food poisoning. I was on the toilet for a few days with my stomach twisting and churning, at that time I'd be willing to shell out a few hundred bucks for the discomfort and pain to go away.

Cheese is fine at any age. bleu cheese is sold bad :^D

Just check it for mold. The mold won't hurt you, but it's unappetizing.

Absolutely. EAT IT. I would.

I drank a beverage last night that expired in January, and I benched a personal best tonight. The adage proves true.

it's cheese.

even if it has mold, you should be fine to carve off the mold and eat the rest.

unless it's totally dried out and hard as a stone, I'd eat it.

I drank a diet caffeine free coke that was expired over a year, and I couldn't lift myself from the toilet.

Normally yes. Even if it's moldy you can cut it off (if it's hard cheese). But shredded cheese like that has so much more surface area for mold growth, I'm not sure. Like others have said it's probably ok if it still smells and looks OK.

That. Mold is fine on hard cheeses, but shredded cheese turns quickly. If it has even a hint of rancid smell pitch it, it's not safe.

oh yeah. didn't realize it was shredded cheese... if it smells, I'd take a pass on it.

shredded cheese doesn't last nearly as long as a block.
