About to pull the trigger. Main concerns are small-size, price, and the ability to "play Youtube videos."

I'm sure there's going to be some multitasking going on too (1000 items at startup) by the time I come back in a year, so I thought 4gb of ram would suffice. Cheap crossfire graphics. Going to run Vista x64, with all the pretty visuals.

Any suggestions below or above this plan? Want it future-proofed for their needs until 1-2 years into Windows 7.

Thanks!

Do they already have a monitor? You should double check Dell's site, as well as the various deals forums for coupons. Because of the volume they do Dell can often give you a better price on a net & email machine (usually with a decent size LCD included) than DIY. Dells are also super quiet.

As for malware, give them user level accounts.

I like CKent's idea. You can get a nice system for pretty cheap nowadays that will more than handle the average mom and dad usage. Plus throw in support and its hard not to consider it.
