Just bought an mp3 player from amazon, and unfortunately, they don't sell extended warranties. I found a place called Warrantybynet.com that offers automotive, home, and electronic warranties. Has anyone used them or know of experiences with them?

Thanks!

Not with them (or others online) but, why would you buy an extended warranty for something that costs so little?

Extended warrantees especially on technology related items seems pointless. All *extra cost* warrantees seem pointless and reflect poorly on the manufacturer.

Hello, and welcome uneducated consumer. I am rudeguy, and I have been in the sales field for well over four years now. Extended warranties can be very useful on some items, other they are a waste of money. If the cost of one service call, or repair problem could be more than the cost of the warranty, then by all means purchase it. On an mp3 player, if it costs more than $10 forget about it.

That is all for now.

This item will be moved around with great frequency. The warranty is only $22 for 2 years.

And the item will cost less than $22 in two years. Really, I should start a warranty company.... with all the warrantee's you guys buy, you could HAVE so much more!

It's a $250 player. It's not the best build quality. And it sure as hell won't be worth only $22 in two years.

Oddly enough the only one I ever bought turned out great for me.

A local Staples sometimes bundles a PRP with their clearance stuff. I bought a Palm IIIc for $135 w/ the PRP deal.

I used it for about a year, planning on ebaying it after I grew tired of it. Before I could ebay it, it broke. I called the Staples folks and since the unit was discontinued and they determined over the phone that it was in fact dead, they sent me a Staples gift card for $292.xx to buy a new color screen palm.

I'm still not a big believer in them, and probably wouldnt buy another PRP, but that one worked out great. :)
