Expensive Hobbies

Anyone into expensive hobbies?

When I was a kid I used to have an RC car, and it ran me pretty dry while I was into it. Nowadays people are spending even more!

I've been into cycling the last year or so, mountain biking mostly. I'm about to get a new road bike this week and I'm starting to realize how nuts I am (but it's not going to stop me!).

A bike I've had my eye on is finally available and the shop ordered me one in anticipation that I'm such a sucker. It should be here this week! Man I'm excited!

2005 Specialized Allez Comp Double

My friends think I'm nuts. But I don't drink and I rarely go out ... I put all my money into cycling and my home ... my truck is a 98 S10 ... *shrug* ... guess I feel like I have to justify it ...

I don't know if I'd pay 2k for a Specialized but it does look like a nice bike.

Personally there's my car (though that's kinda on hold as I want a new one), bikes (tho not that nice😉) and the computer. I gave up on RC cars in hs. I still have like 4 of 'em😛

Thats a big no kiddin. Thats one EXPENSIVE hobby.

The nice thing about most hobbies though is its only the upfront cost thats the real kick in the pants. Guns for exmaple. You may shell out quite a bit for a firearm, but ammo is relatively inexpensive (unless you shoot alot). Gold, you buy clubs which cost an arm and a leg but after that theres virtually no cost (Unless your a club member with high yearly fees). Scuba gear is expensive but tank refills are cheap.
The problem with hobbies is wanting more. 1 rifle isnt enough, new clubs come out, that fancy dive computer you just HAVE to have.......

That's a cheap hobby in my book...

I'm into cars, have a model helicopter, build PC's, and have a jet ski. The car is by far the most expensive.

If you play a lot, I think paintball can get pretty expensive since you have to buy more paint everytime you play.

Hmm, firearms, surfing, cycling, computers, my home improvement projects...I'd like to get back into sailing but I don't really have the time.

Edit-I just bought a Nitro RC car...thinking of buying an RC airplane now. That looks like fun!

skiing and cycling.

Computers too but I dont drop alot of dough into my computer regularly. I usually do complete overhauls and spend $2000 every couple of years.

I used to do RC stuff too... I spent sooo much money on that stuff. Well in the thousands. I still have my Airtronics M8 radio though...

You know you have a problem when you are considering adding a gun vault to your basement because you've run out of empty corners/walls to lean rifles on and it would be more cost effective than buying safes.

Dear Christ!! How many guns to you have?!?
PICS!! 😀

I had my mtn bike drivetrain replaced a few months back ... it was a fortune! I haven't had my fork rebuilt, but I think the time is near ...

Heak, just to attend the races this season I spent well over 1k in travel and entry fees! (8 races in 10wks) ...

I just put some money in my PC a few months ago, to get it up to par for HL2 ... but I don't do gadgets often.

Last I counted I think I have 12 guns.

Edit-Probably around $8-9,000 in guns.

About 45 rifles, give or take a couple, and 6 handguns.

I have a couple pics of a few of them:
Mosin-Nagants (There are a few missing from that pic though)
Enfields, Garands, Springfield

Not pictured: Mausers, SKSs, AK, FAL, CETME, K31, and a few others.
