Exotic piercings? What's the deal?

Never being interested in this sort of thing I am curious what are the reasons behind someone getting exotic piercings. Nipples, tongue, nose, lip, eyebrow etc...

You tell me.

Different people, different reasons.

Some do it for looks.(ears,etc)
Some for rebelion.(tongue,etc)
Some for expression.(nose,etc)
Some for alienation.(eyebrow,etc)
Some for pleasure.(ahem, well you know)

And sometimes people do radical things in radical situations. Like divorce where they want to do something immediate to seperate themselves from their other self.

Used to work in a Substance Abuse treatment facility. A client that came through evidently (for obvious reasons I did not verify info) had peirced his "member" right through the middle, to the point where it actually leaked out holes while using restroom......I defy someone to explain logic behind that

I'm not big on any peircing other than earrings. I've seen some piercings on women that I find attractive but I'm still a bit more conservative on the subject. Although I dated a girl with a tongue stud briefly and that made some things a little interesting....

Any body art...if it meant something to you you wouldnt be asking...but you're not going to get it by asking either. It just has to mean something to you.

No ones explaination will make you understand. I'm not big into piercing ears...but I have most everything else

in other words, he had an Apadravya.
and the reasons for doing it vary from person to person. some do it because they are following trends(tongue, navel etc.) some do it simply because they like how they look(which is why i got mine done) or how they feel
