So this morning on the radio they were talking to the star of the movie "Exorcism of Emily Rose'

she went on to say that in a real exorcism priests must follow rules and one of them is that they cannot ask the devil or demon that has possessed the person any questions..i found that interesting, and am curious why that is

anyone else know any other rules or interesting stuff about possesion/exorcism....

as far as i recall the possesed person has to invite the demon or devil or want to be possesed, they cant just be possessed

As much of a skeptic as I am about these things, I'd be interested in knowing all the rules of an exorcism and why they were put in place. I searched on google but didn't find much.
I believe anything is possible, and it's frightening yet exciting to think there are things beyond this world.
But then again I have always been a sucker for anything good vs. evil.

Damn I want to see that movie. RT viewers are giving it a %75, but the critics are 42%. I might check out a matinee

Cause, like, what if the demon makes perfect sense?

I don't believe in demonic possession. I do however believe in mental illness and chemical imbalances and such. I also believe that people can see things that aren't really there if they try hard enough.

Mostly, I believe that anyone who believes in demonic possession is fracking nuts.

I used to believe the same until I heard a story about a 3 year old who was supposedly possessed reciting scripture in fluent Arameic.

I also keep hearing a story about a scuba diver who was found dead in the middle of a forest fire.

I will continue to think the whole idea is a steaming pile of horsesh!t until I see evidence that stands up under scientific scrutiny.

Yeah but it was also busted by the Mythbusters. ;) Never happened. Just like demonic possession.

Listen, I witnessed my aunt thinking she was god and saying some really wierd stuff, but that was a chemical imbalance in her brain because she was bi-polar. Who do you call, a priest, or a doctor. I call a doctor and she got better.

You know, I think it was. I've also heard it in the context of an urban legend.

I'm so afraid of all that stuff man. I have heard some true evil stuff occur when people used a ouija board--a girls face melted during the 'session' then she was killed by a train. I am not joking. I'm honestly scared to post this because I used the work "ouija" in it. I hope I spelled it wrong.

My point is, people "hear" a lot of stuff that isn't true and a lot of people will tell you that it is... like the 3 year old being demonically possessed.

i've heard some true stories too. one involving a hand mirror and the "bloody Mary" thing. i won't post them here - what's the use? so people can think i'm looney tunes? i guess all we can do is just never mess with that stuff. ie. black magic & weird religious stuff. bad karma man!

A ouija board told me that Dole would win the '96 election, too.
