Exercise question

I been on a diet for a while now trying to get rid of my belly and well get toned, but I can?t seem to get my chest more toned?
I?m 6?0? feet tall (72 inches) and I started my diet with a weight of 200 lbs and I?m down now to 179lbs.

The belly has gone down but my chest area still looks the same, I like to get rid of my ?man tits?

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and I also play beach volleyball once a week.

What exercises could help me out?

I do push ups. I do some other stuff at the gym which I don't really know the actual names for the exercise but I get the dumbbells and lay down on the bench and lift the dumbbells and do about three repetitions of 12.

well first of all, at 6'0 @ 179lbs you aren't fat at all. that is actually skinny. i'm 5'11 @ 185lbs and i'm slim but muscular.

just do bench presses in flat, incline, and decline bench, and do some butterflies with dumbells. it won't happen overnight, but you will see results eventually.

This is elementary weight loss here. You can't spot reduce. The fat will go from your chesticles, but you just need to lose more weight. If, and it's a small minority who have this, you have bona fide man tits, then even when you're really thin you'll still need a bra, and the only solution to that is plastic surgery, but most people complaining of he-boobs just are too fat.

but he's 6'0 and 179lbs. i wouldn't call that fat.

Swimming. Seriously, Iv been swimming for 9 years and I look pretty damn good if I do say so myself😉 Do 100 or so laps around the pool a day and you'll notice the difference.

His bodyfat could still be pretty high. I'm 5,11 and about 170 and I hardly have a six pack. I have decent enough pecs, but they look like tits with any amount of fat on them and stick out of my shirts like man boobs, but at a low bodyfat (which I'm at now) they have a much better form to them and look like actual muscle.

if you want to get rid of manboobs which are primarily fat, you will need to do more cardio.

2 days of cardio, plus the whole volleyball workout. 2 days of weight lifting both legs and shoulders etc.. and i start with small cardio before lifting.

From the words of my personal trainer...lighten up the weight and do more reps. Light weight more reps. Im working towards the same goal, just all over right now, and I do no less than a set of 20 and 4 sets of each excerise.

try running a bit more. I have he-boobs, they are sagging less now because I've built muscles that sort pulls it up, but the fat is still there. At least that's what I think. I do a good amount of cardio, and I break my meals down to 6 a day, so I really don't know whether its sagging less due to what, but its sagging less! so yes, Run more, or Develop your muscles more around your chest (won't lose fat in your chest, but may lift it up a little)

work out your chest. if all you workout is your legs and shoulders, you are going to be very awkward looking in a few months.

workout all your muscles, not just some of them.

your chest = your titties, so work that out to shape them up.

i assume you do chest exercises? bench press? barbells can do that to if you lie on your back and push them straight up. combo pushups and sit-ups help (no, not @ same time, thats not what i mean).

ask ppl @ gym who work there about chest exercises!

Best post of the thread. If you gain more muscle mass in your chest, it may give you a better appearance, but you can't remove fat from one specific area.

What are some good chest workouts? and if you know of a place with explanations of the exercise and pictures it would be great, because otherwise i got no idea.

what do you do for cardio?

incline press, decline press, regular bench press, dumbell flys while laying on back, sit up flys using machine

if you do 3 sets of each you will be tired.

My chest is my best bodypart and 99% of what I do is simply flat bench press with incline dumbell press (lie on back with forearms perpendicular to floor at all times, pull dumbells down, push up). I know a lot of people also like dips as a chest mass builder, but these I think should be the cornerstone of a chest workout.

You need to isolate your chest. Bench press, dumbell bench press (my favorite), dumbell flys, incline bench, decline bench, dips... depending on what equipment you have at your gym. You need good form on chest exercises, otherwise, you are using your arms and shoulders too much.

The perfect bench press form (used in most chest exercises, regardless of position), is an arched lower back, shoulder blades pinched and touching each other, shoulders back, palms and elbows in line, feet on the floor up underneath you. If you see any huge guys at your gym, watch how they bench press. $20 says you are doing it wrong. Common mistakes are having your back flat on the bench and bringing forward your shoulders (diverting the force to your shoulders and arms, not your chest).

Good luck.
