Exercise question

I'm trying to get a lot more cardio exercise into my life and have always wondered this: is 10 min of cardio (treatdmill) 7 or 8 times a day as good as 60 min straight on the treadmill.. I have ADD and get really bored of staying on the treadmill for more than 15 min at a time but could easily see myself getting on the treadmill for 10 min every few hours.. Any ideas?

Essentially no it's not as good because as you excercise for a long period of time you'll end up burning a higher ratio of fat to carbs and you're not going to benefit from that gradual switchover on small sessions. However 6 X 10 is better than 1 X nothing.

If your goal is to burn fat, then no, it isn't effective. Your body needs 18-20 minutes of cardio before getting into the "fat burning zone".

OK, I know this sounds LAZY but it's not.. I'm willing to bust my balls to lose this weight but I really have a short attention span.. I'm worried that if I do an hour straight that I'd eventually get really bored and not work out at all.. With that being said, what's the SHORTEST effective amount of time for fat burning? I'm willing to do that multiple times a day if need be.. I really want this summer to be the summer that I take a big leap forward ....

In all reality, walkin ain't gonna get you nowhere but to the shoe store. Try cycling. It's better than running, swimming or walking. Think about it, you sweat and the speed of your bike causes air to flow over your sweating hulk, causing it to evaporate quickly, even in heat. Therefore, your body produces more sweat to further cool your massive carcass, burning even more calories. Finally, if you're stuck on walking and won't bike cause your a puss, GO OUTSIDE AND GET OFF THE FREAKIN TREADMILL!!! Cycle for an hour at any speed, 5 days per week and you'll be buying a new wordrobe in 6 weeks!!!

DO IT NOW!!!
