...maybe.

WTH? Do 6 days/week of cardio because I'm too broken down to lift anymore and my lungs tell me to piss off too?

Breathing test shows inhaling is great but exhaling...not so much. Chest x-ray clear. Just took Breo for 30 days...fail. Started Dulera 2Xday yesterday. We'll see.

The only upside to getting old is that it's better than getting dead.

Edit: After cardio, I'm breathing like normal for a few hours, at the minimum.

Meaning heart/BP?

BP is usually under the recommended 120/80 and the resting HR is mid 40's.

So what did the doctor say then?
That's about it. Try the Dulera for 2 weeks and go from there. Said to not stop my cardio unless I just can't do it. The goal is to get the asthma under control and not become a couch potato because of it.

I know marathon runners with higher resting HRs than that. Your doc said that's not a concern?
Didn't say but it's been around there since I started biking in the early 90's and my O2 level stays in the upper 90's (I bought a meter).

Had a nuclear stress test and the carotid checked 2 years ago and they were fine.

I've had asthma my whole life. It's not an excuse to sit on the couch. I've been active my whole life. As I got older my asthma has also gotten better. It also got A LOT better when I switched from fast acting inhaler to Advair about 8 years ago. I don't even have an inhaler anymore.

When I do my breathing tests, they don't check anything on the inhale, it's just on the exhale. They basically tell you to take the biggest breath possible then you blow into this thing that measures how hard you blow and how much air comes out, and you do it until you simply can't. And you have to do it 3x. Usually I'm a little light headed at the end of that. Did they run that test on you? They only run those tests (for me at least) at the allergy/asthma specialists, not at the general practice doctors.

I don't plan on taking a vacation from cardio to sit on the couch. How depressing would that be after all of these years of exercising? I'm still hitting 6 days/week. I just haven't ridden my bike much. Sucked to be 30 minutes out and feel the need to call a cab so I'll stick with the gym for the moment.

Yep, ran them at his office and 3 times. Produced a pretty 3 part graph on his laptop. Whatever...the Dulera can take a while so we'll see what happens after that.
