What are some excuses you can use to tell your boss or manager that you can't come in to work?

"I can't stop vomiting". It worked for me. Of course I couldn't go have fun or anything because I couldn't stop vomiting.

Haha one of my former coworkers used that all the time...and it was annoying. :p

It was either
1) She was lying (and she's admitted that to me before)
2) She was still recovering from the previous night's hangover (which was a regular weekday, usually Thursday to get off on Friday)

And speaking of which, one of our needed techs called in today (Christmas day), without any reason at all. That sucked.

You mean 4 blown tires and a flat engine. It is the confusion factor that works there.

I usually use the, "I'm sick and I'm not coming into work today."

Food poisoning

or you can call in Dead
or just call in drunk
or maybe you have been asked to chair the United Nations Council on Peace in the Middle East and need a few days to sort it out.

the trick is to have "soemthing" if you wanna play the sick card that is gross...
pink eye, diareahha and fever, etc. that way, no one will ask to talk about it and just say you feel awful and do not want to get anyone else sick.
