Bwahahaha!!! I never quite understood what 40 cents had to do with anything...

Also, in "Long Time Gone" by the Dixie Chicks, I've always heard:

"No, I ain't looked at porn since I don't know when"

Instead of:

"No, I ain't honked the horn since I don?t know when"

In "Winter Wonderland" I used to think "we'll face unafraid/the plans that we've made" was "we'll face, I'm afraid/the plans that we've made". 😱

I remember one of the biggest misheard lyrics I have ever heard was from a Pearl Jam song (I think the title of the song is Shame?):

It sounds like:
"Feelin'... like a ham and mustard shake"

When it is actually
"Feelin'... like a hand in rusted shame"

It actually really does sound like the first one though... I still can't hear the latter. Check out the song to understand what I am talking about.
😀

"I'm blue, I'm in need of a guy.. I'm in need of a guy.. I'm in need of a guy.."

"I'm blue, da ba di da ba di.. da ba di da ba di.. da ba di da ba di.."

hahahhaha i thought the same thing
i got a good one

Creed - Higher
it's suppose to be, "Take me higher, to a place where Blind men see"

and i heard someone ask.. "where, higher can the linemen see? I don't get it"

LMAO

they thought it was "line-men" not "blind men"
hehehehehe

Best "misunderstood lyric" I ever heard:

J. Geils Band song "Centerfold"

"My anus is the center hole"

(really is "my angel is a centerfold")

Never heard of that but I've heard of people hearing it as "The girl with kaleidascope eyes"
Isn't that what it is?

I just heard another one, "The little boy blew the man in the moon" 🙂

Oh wait...yeah...shoot...need coffee... I know I was thinking of something else about that song but I don't know why I wrote the original words 😕

I used to think "Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap!" was "Dirty deeds, count the sheep!" 😱

And I thought it was "Dirty deeds, thunder cheeks"... 😱
My wife thinks they are saying: Dirty Deeds and the Thunder Kings. 😀

BTW: this is a great thread.. 🙂

I don't remember who sings it "If you wanna play in texas you gotta have a fiddle in the band" Has been mistaken for "If you wanna play in Texas you gotta go piddle in the sand"

Alabama is the band.

< in my Paul Harvey voice >
The band Bush had a hit song called "Glycerine"

Billie Meyers, singer/songwriter thought he was singing about something else.
She help write a song which became a 1 hit wonder for her.
That song was "Kiss the Rain" < / Paul Harvey voice>

That misinterpretation is exactly what it sounds like!! Chalk another one up for the Boss.
It's actually... "deuce" not douche 😀
I swear it sounds exactly like douche!!!

Edit: forgot these...
Some of my favorites are the screwed up attempts at english lyrics of Beck when he's actually in Spanish. 😛
Another is Collective Soul's "The One Eyed Gnome"... aka "The World I Know" 😀

😀

That's actually Stone Temple Pilots, and the song is "Interstate Love Song"
I never understood how people thought STP were a Pearl Jam clone band.

When I was a kid I thought it was "Dirty Deeds and the Thunder Jeep" Makes no sense but hey, I was a kid and all 🙂

BOC = Don't Fear the Reefer

(courtesy of my wife - I still have to look away from her every time we hear the song or I get "the look" due to the snot flying laughter episode I had the first time I heard her singing along)😛

Man, at my internship, the station we played in the labs had would play that song every wednesday at 2:15, I have no idea why. for the longest time the lyrics baffled me.

I got online and looked them up, I think I'm more confused now 🙂

Red Dawn, the Electric Avenue one has me cracking up, I'm gonna think that every time I hear the song now 😀
