why me?? i got burned payapl $340, so i move to EP and now i had over $400 that i dont know if ill get back. When i called, the person that got the phone said they cant unsudpend it, and will have an admisitrator call me back, no call in the past 3 days. Time for me to start getting bitchy about this, cause i want my money. Many of my payments got cancelled too so i had to get MO out for all of them,. What kind of legal action options are available if they go down with our money??

I just got over $300 I had been waiting close to 12 days for. I am glad they worked this out, but don't know if I will ever get that 'warm and fuzzy' feeling again...

Has anyone given them the "info" they need and been unsuspended as a result, or are you still locked out of your own money?

BTW, you might want to copy all the correspondance that you do through their "secure site-email" since you are not sending it through normal email. If you find their "outside" email addy, that would be easier for record-keeping and for a "paper trail" should you need to reference back; just keep security in mind when you use outside email.

Also, if this drags on too long, options include your state's attorney general and the FTC.

I don't keep money there for any length of time, but when I got the email about Discover not being accepted any longer I had to go back and change my card. I gave my GM Mastercard with all the correct info and it wouldn't accept it. I tried again and it kicked me out, so I emailed them. I got a response within 24 hours saying that my billing address wasn't matching, although the zip code was correct. I went back a third time and copied the address exactly as it is on my credit card statement, but it still wouldn't accept it. It then kicked me off and when I tried to log on again, it told me I was suspended. I sent a reply to the earlier email they sent me detailing everything, but I haven't gotten a reply in 5 days. Screw'em. At least I didn't lose any $$.

I opened a new account on the 21st because I rarely do PayPal but would have gone over the $500/6 month limit with a $485 auction sale I made. They currently won't let you withdraw money until they have it for 2 days (says its temporary on their web page). On the 23rd (Saturday) I withdrew it to my bank an hour after it showed up in my account. Its after c.o.b. on Monday the 26th and the funds aren't in my bank yet. I'll call tomorrow. I wish I'd seen this post before I signed up.

yeah, i get through fine to them with no problems whatsoever. the problem is that their reps are the RUDEST people known. they try to blow me off with some canned answer. one of the last reps i spoke was eating like a horse on the phone. i can hear her chewing. i wish there was someone i can tell about this...epath reps are suck!

Update: After my withdrawal didn't show up at my bank 5 days after I made it, I called their 800 number. I got through pretty fast at around 4 PM Pacific. They told me withdrawals take 5 business days (so over a week during the holidays).

Exchangepath isn't that bad, I didn't get suspended because I didn't get any fake credit cards, but two things happened and both have been resolved. You just have to be a little patient (it took 2 weeks for one of my withdrawals to go through). And calling the 1800 number isn't too bad, the wait isn't too long, the only thing is they just kind of take down your account name and have someone else call you back later (I would say about 3-5 days, instead of the 2 days they tell you).

Investors and future investors in EP in various stock forums may like to know the truth about the problems EP is having with customer service. Make sure to give accurate facts only, since some companies have tried to sue posters of false or misleading information.

File a complaint here:

http://www.fraud.org/info/repoform.htm

Under the guise of suspected fraudulent activity or the latest twist: security update and they suspend your account. The story is always the same. Non existing customer service, frustration. My account has been suspended December 16th due to "system update" with a balance of $719.00. Until today nothing acomplished.

The company is part of a large operation (CMGI) which turns out to be nothing more than a stockmarket scam and exchangepath is their only money maker - as long as they keep the customers money.

You can do very little, the authorities are not interested they can not comprehend a fraud of this scale.

Thousands of accounts are witheld, thousands of people defrauded, join the crowd.

After hearing horror stories from customers and sellers that I did business with (though I personally have not had any problems) I set up a web site to collect information of payment services. I called and emailed the services, spoke to bank representatives and officers who work in credit card companies to put together a report that consists of four pages:
ratings of payment services, paypal deceptive practices, how to use paypal safely, what the payment services don't want you to know. From the ratings page you can find links to the others.
