zachs18, how long does it takes for them to reactivate your account?

FYI, all my transactions were within US.

Well, I just checked my account for the first time after signing up to complete a deal a couple weeks ago, and THE MONEY IS GONE. I emailed them a very nasty letter threatening legal action if they do not respond in 30 days.

My first experience with Exchangepath is exceptionally fishy. I think that once I get my money that I will cancel my account. I am NOT happy to have $72 locked in their system. B@stards.

For those of you that signed up awhile ago, you noticed that they never asked for phone # or took any security measures like Paypal did when verifying users. This allowed people to do all sorts of good stuff like launder money, send money and recv money w/o any paper traces to real people, etc.

They probably realized how stupid this was and thats why they now need a whole basket load of information to make sure all the accounts are legit.

Regardless, my account was locked at some point for sending and recv'n too much money in a short peroid, but they investigated and unlocked my account (after two very angry emails from me).

I would recommend calling and emailing as much as possible -- remember, its your money.

Gee guys,I dont know how old you all are,I'm 49.Never leave more than like 50-100$ in something like this, unless you are moving lots of trades.Otherwise you put yourself in a posistion to get burned.Any vendor can say "its in the mail, its a computer error"or what ever.I would rather be burned for $20,than$1000.Its a shame we cant cross ship on trust, but greed screwed that up for many people.Later...........SD..........

No chance for foresight here. I just received a payment today, logged in to check up on it, only to find out they had suspended my account. How in the world can you receive payment on a suspended account???!!! Now I have no choice but to ship the item when I don't even know if I'll actually get the money.

Anyone have any luck actually talking to an Exchangepath CSR? I called three times today and I keep on getting the same old story "they're busy, please leave a message and they'll call you back." I've been waiting by the phone all day, and guess what?! No calls!

no kidding, how come i hear you folks having $1000's of money in a no-name place like this? i'd have withdrawn the cash instantly into one of my many online banks, for safekeeping.

Seems kinda odd, someone would leave so much cash in one place , thats not even a real bank...

Dude i left $2000 under the house, and its not gone..

hmm.. sounds fishy alright.

What exactly were you guys selling :) that the carders wanted so badly?

They were sloppy security-wise when they first started up. It's taken them until now to start getting it together. But making accusing statements to account holders who have done nothing wrong, and withholding their money, is no way to treat their customers.

If you haven't gotten a response after a reasonable time, contact the Federal Trade Commission since this is a federal matter (ExchangePath is NOT a bank).

I guess they aren't going to reactive accounts until all the "new info" is put in .. or can you not even provide new info until they unlock the accounts?

I can't help but chuckle at this situation. When everyone was up in arms about Paypal charging 2% on a product, everyone flocked to exchange path. I told most of you people that instead of moving you should charge an additional 2% on what you are selling. I was ridiculed and now you guys are paying the price. The sorry part is that all of these "FREE" services will eventually charge also. They have to because THEY have to pay a fee on the transaction. I am not about to recommend that you guys go to pay pal. Only that you think about what you are doing. Right now there is a loop hole, the criminals took advantage of that loop hole and you pay the price. If you are going to conduct a business then conduct it professionally like the big companies do. Pay your vendors for their service. Charge a premium to your customers for that service and it doesn't make a difference what the vendors charge. Am I the only one that understands that????????

Anyway, I hope you guys get your money back. I wouldn't keep money in ANY of these online accounts, even if the pay interest. I collect my money and I transfer my money.

Good luck to you guys, and don't forget that the devil you know is always better than the devil you don't know.

Thank you all for providing all the valuable info. I will give them a call first thing Monday morning to see what is going on with my account.
I learn my lesson now. I think anybody should transfer all their money out immediately as soon as the transaction is done.

Exchangepath sucks!

Some info on exchangepath

Dont bother emailing suspended@exchangepath.com it is automated. Nobody reads

Call exchanepath's 1800 Customer Service #

1-800-987-2675

Dont call their long distance # :)

Also, your account gets "flagged" for any of a million reasons.

if your cc billing address is different than your account address (like mine) you will be flagged.

If your account sends money to the same person over and over in large sums like mine does ..

If your account sends money to people who are suspected of credit fraud.

And on and on

Your account maynot be suspended for the last 2 reasons...but if it is you'll not know until you try to log in.

Dont EMAIL THEM...CALL. When the first person you talk to insists they cannot unsuspend your account tell them you wish to talk to someone who can. If you stand firm you'll get it unsuspeded....unless of course you're suspended for a valid reason.

Also, any transactions that are pending while you're suspended do not freeze. So, if you have 100 dollars going into your bank account on monday and you're suspended on tuesday it will still get there as usual

hope this helps.

squirrel dog, I think most of us are over 21 in this thread (i think you can hardly find a kid with this much $$$?).

The reason I've over 1k in my account is because I received 3 payments, which were about $500 each in 2 days. I withdrew $500 the first day, $500 the second day, and I found out my account got suspended in the sixth day when i tried to withdraw the remaining.
Both of my $500 didn't transfer to my bank account (it has been more than 10 days). They are holding all the fund now, damn!!!!

That last part is not quite true. I requested a withdrawal from my account. The next day my account gets suspended. I don't care too much at first because there isn't any money in my account anymore. Then a week passes and still no credit to my card. Turns out they cancelled my withdrawal after suspending my account and didn't so much as even email me about it. Very bad business practice. I didn't want to pay the % on paypal, but maybe it's the lesser of two evils. Actually, I'm going to use ecount, until they screw me over as well, as all these online companies seem to do sooner or later.:disgust:

ecount has NEVER screwed me, they seem to be the only ones doing this right and DENY transactions BEFORE you send them if they are suspicious (ie sending large amounts)..the system just wont let you do it! All you need to do is call their 24/7 customer service, which is toll free, and they can manually add money, send, etc...makign sure a transaction is valid BEFORE allowing it is a much better way yto operate than allowing it and freezing later!

they run webcertificate so they are pretty knowledgable when it comes to online finances....its definitely worth it to pay the $1 add fund fee and $1 check fee (still way cheaper than paypal!)

OMG! That ridiculous and illegal. A COMPANY can't just freeze someone's account without at least an explanation on why. I say you call their headquarters and piss and moan. Worst comes to worst, sue their asses. :|

I received a payment from a person and he asked me to ship the item to him (the shipping name is different from the payment name, but still ship within US). I doubt and I called exchangepath customer service and they told me they CAN'T find out if it is fraud or not. They told me not to worry since I'll ship the item within US.
Well, now they locked my account and refused to tell me which transaction is involved. I'm still not sure which of the 3 transactions causes my account suspended.

They just suspended my account too. Right after I got a payment form Narse for selling him the Yamaha CDRW drive. This is really pissing me off.

THIS IS WHAT EXCHANGEPATH'S SUPERVISOR TOLD ME:
The problem is with the new SECURITY SOFTWARE they have installed. It works automatically with the server and well it has bugs in it with the old system. Even if they activate your account it means nothing becaue many people get kicked out after a few days. Just get activated withdraw the FUNDS and HOPE FOR THE BEST.

GOODLUCK
