Exchange Server Help!

I am the acting admin for a Windows Small Business Server 2003, as our usual operator left suddenly a few weeks ago. To sum it up, I am a novice. I understand computers and technology very well, but don't know much about SBS/exchange.

As luck would have it, our system had a major crash (active directory all messed up). I got some bad advice on how to deal with this, and I now have a fresh install without any of the old data (the backups were all fubar, thanks previous operator). One saving grace: I saved the "edb" and "stm" files from our original exchange directory.

I'd like to be able to migrate these into the new exchange server, can I do this? The domain name has changed a bit (from a .local to a .com), but there is only 1 user on active directory and in exchange, and he needs his exchange mail/tasks/appts/contacts back.

you need to call Microsoft ASAP and pay the $245 support call

there is a way to do it, but i don't remember the procedure. one thing you will need to do is probably switch the domain back to the original name

exchange is a dog to restore in this situation, and next time post in the right forum

your second bet is buy ontrack powertools, export the mailboxes to pst from the edb files and then import them back into the new exchange organization
