Exchange 2003

Problem: Our Exchange server will not create 'new' mailboxes.

When we create a new user in active directory, it says that it created the account along with a mailbox in the directory that we wanted, however, when the newly created account is logged in and you go to use outlook, there is no mailbox to use. Also the mailbox doesnt ever seem to show up in the directory we put them in even after it says in plain text that the mail box had been created after creating the user account.

The mailboxes are were being stored on the same server as exchange is installed/running. Also any accounts that were made prior to today work fine... it's only new accounts created today that are being affected by this problem.

Have you run DCDiag on the Exchange server you created the accounts on? Make sure it's talking to your AD servers okay.

I would also use the Exchange server CD and load the Active Directory tools on a Domain Admin's PC and try to create a few accounts from there instead of on the Exchange server itself. See if those show up okay.
