I'll start off by saying nRollo did not approach me to post this on his behalf, but it seems as if this punishment is a bit excessive relative to the comments. Its part of a bigger issue that has continued throughout the years of AT forums showing heavy bias for ATI/AMD and I think this culture begins with the moderators.
Fact is, certain vocal ATI/AMD supporters have done much worst in the past weeks and months and NEVER once have I seen a punishment that amounts to a public flogging administered similar to the above. 4 weeks for what? Calling someone out for past remarks?
And of course that's another issue I have with the video forums. Lack of accountability. People repeatedly spread the same disinformation and propaganda even when they're provably wrong and any attempt to call them out results in warnings from moderators or locked threads?
I'm sure being a Video moderator is a thankless job, and overall I still respect ViRGE but I think this latest action was a bit unfounded and heavy-handed. I've also noticed AmberClad has been more proactive in addressing some of the personal attacks, but it doesn't seem like punishment is being doled out equally. If you're not going to allow people to call others out for past statements, then the punishments should at least be equal, especially if you're going to publicly flog people as in this instance.
