UPDATE: Apparently, UPS told Mother Nature to suck it, and the product is out for delivery. UPS++

I'm joing the bandwagon of bitching about UPS. Ordered an item with Overnight shipping 2 days ago. Shipped out yesterday, so I thought to myself "Great I'll get it today." Boy was I wrong (maybe there's still a chance of getting it today?).

Because of a little bit of rain and wind, I get this bad boy:

JAMAICA, NY, US

ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS CAUSED THIS DELAY

The weather of Jamaica right now?

Jamaica, NY

Mostly Cloudy and Windy 47°F
Feels Like 40°F

Been that way for the past hour and a half.

Is Jamaica where it's being shipped from or to?

It's at Jamaica right now. I'm about a half hour away from it on Long Island.

Should've ordered USPS if the weather was bad.

And if that's not an option?

My biggest reason for being pissed is because I wanted the packages to be delivered today, when I'm home.

I don't want them to deliver some expensive stuff on Monday when I'm not going to be around.

I guess you didnt notice that freezing rain coating the roads with ice all of last night then, probably preventing the packing from even getting to jamaica, did you?

I'm pretty sure that overnight delivery is GUARANTEED next day or else they will refund you the shipping charges. Check out UPS website, because I'm %100 sure I've seen this before. The only method that is not guaranteed on the "expected delivery" date is UPS Ground. All others are guaranteed or you get (atleast a partial) refund on the shipping.

I thought my package wasn't coming because it usually comes at around 3:30pm, and I got home at 6pm and it wasn't there, but around 7pm they knocked on the door with it.

also, i'm not sure if the weather/holidays will make it an execption to their refund policy.

The guarantee does not apply to UPS shipments that are delayed due to causes beyond UPS's control, including but not limited to, the following: the unavailability or refusal of a person to accept delivery of the shipment; acts of God; acts of public authorities acting with actual or apparent authority; acts or omissions of customs or similar authorities; insufficient information provided by a customer; Hazardous Materials packages improperly offered for transport; the application of security regulations imposed by the government, or otherwise applicable to the shipment; riots, strikes or other labor disputes; civil unrest; disruptions in air or ground transportation networks; and natural disasters.

If he tells them he doesn't believe in god, i believe nothing on that list counts as "ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS CAUSED THIS DELAY" :D
