Excellent Deals on SilverStone Power Supplies

If you're looking for a good deal on a high quality power supply (Ultra doesn't count), this place has very good prices on a lot of Silverstone products. For example the SilverStone ST85ZF Zeus 850W Active PFC PSU is only $240 (Newegg wants over $280) Plus they have the SilverStone Element 500W Plus for $79 (which I bought). The fully modular 600W Strider is also only $115.

They have great customer service (I spoke with Jennifer the site owner) and fast shipping. Packaging was also very good, my PSU arrived in great condition.

From personal experience I find SilverStone products to be very high quality. Here are some reviews done by JonnyGuru (in my opinion the most thorough PSU tester)

They're a newer company so if you buy from them make sure to give them some Resellerratings feedback!

Nice find. I just recently bought my Silverstone PSU from Newegg. Wish I would have know about this site. I could have upgraded and still paid the same amount.

Yea, SilverStone PSUs are very nice and are underrated. My 500W Element is just as quiet as my Seasonic S12 600W and the SilverStone has tighter load regulation (tested via DMM).

With G80 right around the corner, a high quality 850W modular PSU for $240 is a great deal I think.

I can't imagine a PC that would need an 850W PSU. A heavily overclocked X6800 with 10 hard drives, 2 optical drives, dual video cards, a dozen fans plus a raid card or two would still run fine on a quality 600W PSU.

G80 is slated for next month. I thought I read somewhere 800W is recommended for SLI by nVidia.

Really? I ran a crossfire system with a 550W (not overclocked) while I set it up for a friend. Now that I think about it may be useful for a Quad SLI system but even then 800W is a lot of power.

I recently bought an Enhance E5150GH and recommend it highly - of course, I found it here in a hot deals thread. 🙂 https://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5150GH

Good point, I hadn't thought to do that. Does the Enhance version have sleeved cables?

Two reasons:
First, none of the Enhance cables are sleeved including the main 24-pin ATX cable. That one should always be sleeved IMO.

Second (and more importantly), ordering from ewiz is a risky deal. I orderd my Silverstone from Newegg simply because I won't order anything from ewiz. If you ever have to return anything to them, or even cancel an order thas hasn't shipped.........good luck. I went thru that with Monarch and learned my lesson.
Now buying from an unknow vendor always has risks, but with ewiz, the risks are well known so I choose to avoid them altogether (same with Monarch).

Fair enough!

I just received an Enhance 5150 from Ewiz. It is defective, the 120mm fan runs at 100% and never slows down. I have submitted an RMA and hope they don't jerk me around. I haven't had problems with them before.....

I've got an 11" Silverstone skillet and let me tell you that thing really cooks. And it takes the heat really well, too.

I think the problem with sleeves on the cables could be helped with the critical application of a little grease or other lubricant, although they say you shouldn't need it with Silverstone.

It turns out that there are three 500w silverstone. There is 500w, 500w-plus and 500w-plus_sc. Does anyone know how these three psu differ? Also did this place actually ship the plus version for $90 (incuding shipping?)

SilverStone 500w plus = 80% efficiency

SilverStone 500w plus sc = 80% efficiency + short cable version

i run two silverstones and they are nice, before these i've run antec and enermax. gonna try a seasonic one of these days..

Ah, found one here.

also made by enhance. This is essentially the enhance 0560g but naturally, more expensive. Nice find on those psus though. That 850w zues is a killer deal.

I'm just trying ot decide between the enhance 0560gh or the silverstone 500wplus... but someone else mentioned that in this thread? What's the warranty like on the stilverstone it is one year on the enahnce
