excel xp copied formula is pasted as a value

When I copy a formula and paste it into a different cell, the value from the original formula shows up in the new cell. It doesn't matter if I paste special and paste just the formula, the original value keeps showing up, even though the formula is correct (correctly adjusted for the new cell). If I view the formula, it displays the correct value for the formula, but when i go back to the cell, it still shows the original value.

I've tried the suggestions in the ms knowledge base, but that didn't help at all.

Does anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?

Have you tried re-pairing the office install just incase. Another sugestion is to try it in a new worksheet, if it work you previous worksheet is probably corrupt

No, that didn't work either.

Even if I start a new workesheet, I still encounter the problem. I disabled the Office Clipboard entirely (which is what MS says is the problem) and that doesn't solve the problem either.

Anyone else have this problem? This is reason enough to go back to 2000....
