Excel Trick: Secret Spy Hunter Game
By performing a numbing number of steps in Excel 2000 you can play the secret Spy Hunter game. This is one of the best Easter Eggs any programmer has ever snuck into an application. Here's what you do:
Open Excel.
In a blank worksheet, select File, Save As and choose "Web Page" using the Save As Type drop-down arrow.
Click on Publish and check the Add interactivity checkbox.
Click the "Open published page in browser" checkbox and press the Publish button.
Go all the way to row 2000, column WC. This will take a while.
Highlight row 2000 by clicking on the 2000 row heading.
Hold down the Ctrl, Alt, and Shift keys and click the Office icon. Spy Hunter will start.
How to play:
Use the arrow keys to steer the car
Use the space bar to shoot
Use the "O" key to drop oil slicks
Use the "H" key to turn on your headlights
I tried it, it does work. Pretty nifty...well, back to my budgeting homework...🙁
BTW, does anyone know the shortcut to alternate between CAPS and lowercase in Excel? I type in like 30 things and now decided that they shouldnt have been CAPS...😱
