Excel questions - Matching names on two colomns

Basically I want to match two column of names, except they're not in the same format, one is an assortment of First M. Last or First Last name, while the 2nd list formatting is Last, First or Last First

I was wondering if there is anyway to sort/match these besides having to reformat everything?
 
you can use some text-to-columns formatting to get them in a similar format, then use a vlookup to look for matches
