Excel Multisheet formulas

I picked up a small job for family friends to do some excel formulas for their payroll scheme as a favor, but i ran into some trouble. The problem is, the sheet they gave me needs to be filled out externally, i cant change anything on it (ie formulas, numbers). I was curious if i would be able to open up a copy of the original document on a separate sheet, have the formulas and values entered on the copy, then have it fill in the original?

Why can't you change anything? It makes no sense that they would give you a spreadsheet to fill out that can't be edited. Have you checked to see it it is protected? If so, is there a password?

If the original is write protected in the first place, you won't be able to fill to it even after you've done your calculations on another sheet.

There is no write protection. The sheet is submitted to Petro Canada from this company, and Petro Canada just wants it with raw numbers, no formulas. This is because they get the same sheet from several different companies, and then just merge them all together. Its really just a few sum and percentage formulas that i need calculated, but i need it done outside of the original sheet. Sorry for my lack of clarity. I do appreciate the interest.

Molondo, why don't you just create a template? You can fill it out with formulas, and then easily remove the formulas before sending the file. All you've got to do is select all of the cells and then copy and do a Paste Special --> Values and Number Formats. It literally takes a couple of seconds to remove the formulas.
