EXCEL - How to make bar chart with numerous repeating colors?

I have a data series of 7 categories that repeat. I need each of the 7 categories to have it's own color.

Example: the bar chart will plot the categories in this order:

X1, Y1, Z1, X2, Y2, Z2, X3, Y3, Z3

Where the X's are always the same color, Y's the same color etc...

Is there a way for me to just control what color the bars are individually?

Or how can I graph Series X1 to X3 with spaces, then plot Series Y1 to Y3 in between the spaces of Series X?

Much appreciated!

Sure. Make a bar chart, then click on the bar itself until it's highlighted and right click.

You should see "Format Data Point". There is a "fill" option that you can change from "Automatic" to "solid" and select a color for each bar.
