How do you make a certain range of cells read only? I'm trying to make the cells and the function protected so other people don't get in and mess up the calculations.

First select all the cells that you don't wish locked (read-only), press right mouse button and select "Format cells". Go to "Protection" tab and uncheck "Locked".
Then go to menu Tools/Protection and select Protect Sheet. Password is optional.
All the cells you haven't unlocked before will be locked now.
