Lets say you have something like this for an absolute column range.

$A$4 : $A14

How do make so that it would work like $A$4 : $A$(go down to where ever the list stops)?

Can this be done without macros?

would it make more sense to use a table? That way you can just grab a column of the table for your function.

Also, if you have an entire list selected, sometimes excel is smart enough to know to expand the selection if a row is inserted at the end. Might need to take the absolute reference off of it though for that to work.
