Excel help needed

Hi guys.

I cannot figure out to do this in Excel. I have two columns of cells - one is a description, and the other is a price. Like this:

Item A 7845
Item B 45459
Item C 958
Item D 173450

... and so on.

I need to sort the two according to price. However, if I just mark them and use the sorting function, Excel sorts the item descriptions according to name, and price according to value. I need to find a way to link the two, but only have Excel take the value into consideration when sorting.

Any tips?

This sounds easy.

Just select all your data. Then from the menu select, Data>Sort.

And select to sort the data by Column B (or whichever column you use for the prices). Pick the ascending or descending option as needed.

This works for me in Excel 2003.
