so i order my DLT3C XP1700+ from ExcaliberPC the other night and I get a call the next morning at 9:30 EST. He tells me he's from ExPC and tells me I only gave my PO Box and not my physical address (silly me). The whole time he was nice as could be, cracking jokes, telling me sorry for the delay it will get out the same day 'n stuff.

I don't know of any other company that would call you the next day. Usually you would get an email telling you it can't be shipped out till they receive the propper address. Of course that would delay you're receiving your package.

Anyway they get an A in my book. Anyone who calls a customer back the next morning will get my future business. Maybe this has happened with other companies. When it does it sure makes you want to shop with them again.

That is incredible. I can't imagine ANY online vendor calling you personally. That does say a lot. Good luck to ExPC!

I had a company call me and tell me they can't begin processing my order until I call my CC company and put my ship-to address on file with them because it was different from my bill-to address. Of course the ship-to address already was on file and the company didn't bother to call and verify, heck they had 3 days before they even bothered to call me to tell me they couldn't begin processing my order.

I'm glad to see some companies are willing to take the initiative these days to maintain their bussiness and get repeat customers. There are lots of morons out there trying to make a buck and don't understand why none of their customers come back and shop with them again!

Many companies don't realize how vital customer service is to customer retention. This is especially true in what is now essentially a commodity market (computer peripherals). Differentiating your business by offering superior service is a great idea, most people (myself included) will pay a premium for it as well to save the headaches later.

What also makes me come back is the time it takes to ship and receive a package. I think Newegg is very responsive. That is the main reason I bought most of my pc from them the other day. B/C i want it now now now!

Thanks for sharing your experience, Gage. I just might have to give them a try, next time that I order parts. :)

That is called "bait and switch" and is highly illegal. I would seriously consider filing a report with the BBB if that's what they did to me. I've always been kind of leary about bzboyz.com. Some people have order from them with no problems, others have had nightmares dealing with them.

Hey KK,
. Who the heck needs the ECS K7VMM+ whey they already carry at least AOpen, MSI and Biostar versions of the same mobo? All of which are probably more reliable than the ECS would be anyhow. And they have the Matsonic and PC Chips (w/soldered Duron) that are the all the same as the ECS board anyhow (except for maybe the PCB color). I also noticed the Asrock and FIC versions of the same when I just did a search. Just how many versions of the same thing do they need?

Directron did that when I ordered some round cables. They called to say they were out of a certain color and asked what I wanted to do. Color wasn't a big deal with me so I went from red to blue and thanked them for the call.

Axiontech also called me twice in one day to respond to a last minute question I had about a board I had ordered that had already been packed for shipping. I was really happy to know they would actually take time to make a call and have ordered from both vendors several times.
