I love re-learning everything I've learned in the past 18 weeks all over again in one weekend. Luckily I've found that I haven't forgotten stuff from my EE classes, like node voltages and Thevenin equivalents, or that 1+1 = 10...

Thevenin = voltage source and resistor in series.
Norton = current source and resistor in parallel. 😉

Woo hoo.

noooooooooo... my ece final is on tuesday and luckily we wont have thevinen wquivalaents. we will have a question on op-amps, phasor anaylsis, first, second, ic switched circuits... bleh

Yeah, we're having some of that stuff, too. Took me a while to get my brain to understand that you use imaginary numbers to find realistic stuff...😕

quick, what's the cacode equation for output resistance of a BJT? I'll be impressed if you can remember that off the top of your head 😛

🙁 I hate BJTs....

Bah, go for the mosfet equation, it's pretty much the same... 😀

Global Democratization Paper Due Monday
French Oral Exam on Monday
Stats Final Tuesday
Comparitive Politics Paper Due Tuesday
Comparitive Politics Final Tuesday

What a fun two days 🙂

Heh, guess I luck out being a freshman. I've got Chemistry I, Calc I, Music Appreciation, and English I exams.

No studying required. 😉

I have a final on Monday and on Tuesday. I'm thinking about just winging it, because there's no way I could get prepared in time.

I was talking about the full equation but your approximation is correct 😀

(The BJT case is more complicated since the beta*ro approximation doesn't always hold)

err.. full equation.. err... something like...

gm*ro*[1+ro]?

Heh, I can't remember any of this stuff. I remember I used to use feedback to figure out the cascode output resistance.

no time for feedback when you have a prof that double-cascodes everything for shits and giggles in the midterm (see question 2).

edit: hmmm... I remembered wrong, everything is just folded-cascode... good times.

ow... I could sit around and solve it, but I'd rather not. Interestingly enough, I used to TA this class equivalent. My students were stubborn and insisted on me showing the small signal analysis of these large circuits to prove that my quick versions were correct.
