Ex-Romanian Princess on Cockfighting Charge

Pathetic if true.

But if she's 60 years old an a "Princess", then she is not really a Romanian citizen, as the royal family was exiled before ~1953.
 
She can have some of the feral chickens from around here. One hen keeps hunkering down with chicks in front of my shed door and attacks me when I try to open it. There was a rooster crowing on my roof yesterday. Why coyotes and foxes haven't showed up to decimate the population, I don't know.

cockfighting is quite big in WV and KY (no surprise). there is a county down there where the cops turn a blind eye to it because it is basically the reason they get any income there at all. some local guys in ohio raise fighting chickens and drive them down there to fight.

its pretty cutthroat, they do things like sabotaging the other peoples chickens (drill a hole in the chicken coop at night and spray a whole can of bug spray in to damage the chickens respiratory systems, etc).

Diplomatic immunity is for political agents of a state. The Romanian Royal family is not part of the Romanian state/government. They got ejected when the communists took over and when democracy won in the 1990s the people chose not to reinstate the monarchy.

You're right. My older brother lives in WV and isn't involved in any way but he says that people drive clear across the country to buy fighters from his neighbor who raises (but does not fight) chickens. Most of his customers don't even speak English. It seems that the man breeds some well-respected line of chickens. It's big there.

I believe the whole family had their citizenship reinstated sometime after the fall of communism in the 1990s.
 
Shouldn't the family be rich. Even if all there possessions were taken away by the communists they should have been returned in the 1990's. They must own a ton or real estate in Romania.
Is she cut off by her father?
