Ex Californians, which state did you move to?

OS

Lifer
Which state and how do you like it?

Particularly interested in weather, as long as it's not too humid and/or hot during the summer.

Looking to get away from inflated cost of living, traffic and looking for smaller town mindsets.

As a fellow Californian, I hope you get the hell out. No offense, but you're one less buyer on the market.

Also, there're plenty of small towns with not-so-insane housing prices in CA. It's a huge state. Check up north past SF, up the 395 around Bishop, and up 101 around SLO.

Moved to Mass. The weather sucks ass here. 9 months of winter and 3 months of summer where it rains at least twice a week and is humid and sticky the other 5 days. Compare that to CA where you can wear shorts from mid Feb to mid Nov.

And they talk funny there, too 😉

I moved to mass also still trying to get use to the people here winter sucks fing snow and cold move from the city of escondido ca to the county of hardwick ma city boy stuck in the county.

Look at Santa Fe or Albuquerque NM.

Good weather (although much cooler...cand get into the 20's), smaller towns, still lot of outdoors stuff to do, and they are southwest hubs so you can hop a cheap flight to other places easily.

Oh no...keep them out of Texas. I am tired of all the California white trash moving to my state. They sell a shanty in CA for big $$$ and move into nice neighborhoods here that are way above their class level and then procede to muck it up. Plus all they do is bitch about the heat and humidity.

I grew up about 2 1/2 hours from where you live...in Albany, NY. Man, I'm glad I moved from there to CA. I'm never going back to the North East. You can have your cold cold winters and hot humid buggy summers!

I moved to Pittsburgh, PA from Los Angeles two years to go to grad school @ Carnegie Mellon. I am definitely moving back to California when I'm done here (another 2.5-3 years).

Whether I'll move to LA/San Diego or NorCal or elsewhere is another question which I have not figured out, yet.

I could possibly be talked into moving to Texas/New Mexico as I have some extended family in both states and liked what I saw on visits.

you know you guys can leave at any time? i mean normally i'm not one to say "oh well you don't like this then leave!!" but the weather isn't going to change in our near future. NE isn't for everyone but I like it
