Evolution. There was an article in the BBC last week, with a missionary who gave up everything in his life, including his wife and daughter, to learn the language of a people which consisted of 8 consonants and 3 vowels, that use tone to communicate, even singing as a part of their language. He was trying to convert these people to religion and found it as a proof that there is no god/evidence of evolution

I have studied both in detail and for me there is not enough conclusive evidence supporting either theory to confidently explain the beginnings of life on our planet. I chose the 3rd option. I don't think Evolution and Creationism are mutually exclusive. On a long plane ride, sitting next to my best friend (who is a devout Christian), we had a pretty in-depth conversation about this. There's no reason why an almighty being couldn't have simply set in motion the forces of evolution and natural selection. I always get a bit hung up about all this stuff on the creation of the universe. The very creation of the universe seems to defy the laws of physics - how can matter come from nothing? I think it's possible that a god, or whatever you choose to call it, could have simply set things in motion with the laws of physics/chemistry.

Oh, and this thread is flamebait.
