Until the crop of phones comes out later this year, it's still a great phone and one of the sexiest phones on the market.

AT&T and Verizon announced their next gen phones way too early, IMO. Why would I want to buy an Evo now, when I know I can get MUCH better in a few months? Anyone with half a brain that read any of the CES publications knows to wait.

Evo's a nice phone, but its definitely going to be playing second or third fiddle to the stuff thats just around the corner.

Because I plan on selling it when that happens. duh.
Hence the whole buying it used thing, and going contract free.
duh.

Anyway, moot point. Sprint can't be had contract free, so it's a wash.

Hurray Update!
Well I am now bound by contract again.
Tried using a G2 on T-mobile and the 3g signal kept dropping indoors.
Beautiful well built phone that is fast as hell. Oh well.
Got a Sprint EVO 4g. I love it so far. Don't like Sense though. It sucks at linking my Facebook contacts.
And of course I had to sign a contract. Darn.
Good news. 4g seems to work well unless I am buriedin an office building. And then I get decent 3g speeds.
On 4g I managed 5.5 mbps in Anaheim connecting to a Los Angeles server. Not bad at all.
Seems snappy. The small system memory on my OG Droid was killing me.

Damn, 5.5mbps is darn good. If you don't like the phone, you can return it and cancel the contract within 30 days.

Now root it with unrevoked, and at least install a different launcher (zeem, launcher pro, ADW), you'll see a nice speed increase.

I'm interested in anything battery saving. So I will likely look into as soon as I settle into my phone.
Already threw Launcher Pro on there, and damn, this phone is fast.
It wasn't slow before but the apps drawer would chug a tad here and there.
