how much is the second card?

I would recommend getting the first card, then overclocking it yourself.

get the e-vga 7900 gt signature series cards. Those feature better colling and have higher clocks.
And overclocked it decimates the 7900 gtx and is cheaper by quite some margin.
I saw the benchies at the inquirer.

and how hard is it to over clock, i would like to do that with my chip (AMD X2 3800+)
can you explain quickly how its done. Also, will i need improved cooling for the chip or the the video card

If I'm not mistaken to get the 7900GT up to and possibly surpass the 7900GTX you need to do a volt mod. Its a simple mod by many standards because you use a conducive pen to do it. It kinda works like soldering but its much simpler in that its more like a draw a line of a substance from one point on the back of the card to another point. You also take a regular pencil and shade a resistor or something to change the MHz. There's a guide somewhere on this forum that explains it all pretty simply and with easy to follow pictures.

If that idea bothers you you can simply overclock the card the more traditional way with software (CoolBits or RiveaTuner) and be fine. Although it wont reach the GTX performance level but it'll still be good enough. Some folks are getting a GTX HSF and placing it on the GT and some are buying a certain Silencer cooler model and cutting the last two inches off of it so the GT will run cool and quiet.

Both KO's are very good because of the fact that they cover the ram chips, which the stock cooler doesnt do. This might help in temps and OC'ing so ide imagine if the superclock could be overclocked to such speeds so could the already overclocked KO with the KO heatsink. 7900gt's generally overclock like mad anyways even without the KO heatsink. 1 choice FTW!
