I just bought an EVGA 7800GT N516. I got it for 299 at the egg and it came with a copy of COD2 in the box! Which was nice. However, going back to the egg to comment on my purchase I found they were no longer selling my card (N516) instead they had a N518.

My question is what the hell is the difference and why is the N518 cheaper? I also saw a N517 which was more expensive.

Anyone an EVGA expert? Their website is useless.

Um, different coolers, and different stock clock speeds, I think that might be the differences.

They didn't stop selling it.... They just sold to many of them OoS

Edit Also the N518 is not cheaper then the N517 (which is the one not listed) or the N516

Do the 516s come with COD2? That would be very nice. I ordered two of those from Mwave, but it didn't say anything about COD2 in the description.

I posted this in another thread:

The 515 is the aluminum card (445/1050), the 516 (460/1100) and 517 (470/1100) have the larger copper coolers and I think the 518 (445/1050) is the one bundled with the SLI motherboard.

If you don't recieve it in the box, go to EVGA's website and register. They will then send it to you. CoD2 is being replaced with another game though...so no more after the 6th.

Yep my COD2 was in the box of my N516

From the other thread...

N515-AX - Regular clocked EVGA 7800 GT (445/1070) with the reference Aluminum cooler.
N518-AX - Same as 515-AX, except it comes with an extra box.
N517-AX - "CO" Version, clocked at 470/1100 and has a Copper cooler with a larger fan (the same fan thats on the GTX).
N516-AX - This is the "CO SE", but its clocked at 460/1100 and it also comes with the same cooler as the regular "CO" version.

sigh
i think i got screwed
the game didn't come in the box for my n516, and when I filled out the form on eVGA's site, they emailed me back saying the promotion ended November 16th. What a bunch of BS.
oh well, I emailed them again and kind of complained, but not expecting any replies lol
