that depends what you want from the card?
To OC core and memory look for KO where HSF is larger and covers memory too
The next is - do you need HDCP or not?
For example EVGA comes with two flavors:
N624 - none HDCP
N625N625 - HDCP supported

Gigabyte card has nice hsf, but it doesn't come with Heat shinks for memory :-/ - why?

But, then if you care about HDCP then $189 AR and you may consider ATI x1950PRO HDCP that comes at $199.99 that's faster in SM 3.0

Best USA warranty support for Nvidia is EVGA & Powercolor or Asus are good bets for ATI.

Also the X1950XT HDCP 256mb is faster then a 7950GT in just about every benchmark, never mind a 7900GS which isn't really a fair card to compare to it.

I am also looking to buy a 7900GS, but I'm wondering about which one I should buy. I'll be overclocking and likely volt modding it. Does the brand or factory overclock matter if I'm going to be overclocking it anyway?

I'm thinking about just getting the cheapest 7900GS, which is currently the XFX standard version for $140 after rebate on Newegg. The speed is 450/1320.

The eVGA 7900gs KO is $160 with 500/1380.

The BFG Tech 7900GS is $155 with 525/1320.

EVGA is the only company that won't void your warranty for overclocking & they will also allow you to install aftermarket cooling solutions.

Yeah, I know that, but any of the 7900GS will be able to overclock the same (more or less) amount right?

Thats completely luck of the draw ... however since you can swap the HS/Fan on the EVGA card without voiding your warranty, plus if you do fry it by overclocking still get your card replaced, your best bet is still EVGA.
