I was going to say that's a rather mediocre looking card, but you just posted a picture of a new non reference GTX570 they're also introducing. An interesting note on that one is that it does look like it has Display Port (although I have a non reference Palit GTX470 with Display Port, so its nothing incredibly new, I'm just excited more nVidia options are featuring the new interface), unfortunately the dual GPU card looks like it has only 3 x DVI + 1 x HDMI, and no Display Port.

Here's is a pic of the dual GPU monster:

I wonder if this one will actually make it into production.

I can't seem to get to the site. Have they said anything about when it might come out. We know the 6990 is in Q1 confirmed by AMD.

The PCB is black. Do you guys know what that means?

It means the PCB Isn't any other color? ;)
OT: Looking at the memory chip quantity, I'll bet this is a dual GTX560. Two cut down 570s. Maybe 416 or 448 cores with a 256 bit bus (1GB per GPU). Just speculating.

i bet this card is gonna be like 500+ dollars
Considering the standard GTX580 is ~$520-$550 one might assume a card that beats the 580 to be more expensive. On a side note did you get that job yet? Im sure a steady income would lower your animosity towards anything costing over $200.

That looks sweet. Maybe I need a 30" screen so I could justify owning one. Every game I play plays great @ 1080p with my 480 though.

Looks like nV is going to have the top 2, possibly 3 cards.

Isn't the 5970 technically faster than the GTX580? I'm sure AMD is working on a dual GPU part as well. The arms race continues...

Very nice looking card, has a heavy-duty look to it.

If you need another excuse to get a 30 inch dell seems to be having good deals at the moment.

Two things:

1) I'll believe it when it's released
2) PCIe spec calls for 300w maximum. It's a fact that AMD is more power efficient. Assuming that this will be the top performing single card either means that somehow NV manages to make their GPUs even more power efficient (maybe the GTX560 GPU will allow that, if it's being used), or they will go over the power limit of the PCIe spec.

It could be that they put out something which is like the HD5970, where it offers easy access to overclocking, so they can clock it low and stock performance will be sub 300w, but users can overclock to normal speeds and go above the 300w limit.

Oh, and for those who think I'm being cynical without reason, here's a sneak peak at NV's LAST dual GPU monster.

Hands up if you have one.

The GTX460 is a fantastic overclocker from what I have seen. I wouldn't be surprised if this card was downclocked and sold as a very overclockable card, like the 5970.

But out of the box, I think two GF104's (or maybe even two GF114's) might have a problem being clearly faster than two Cayman based GPU's.

I'm not buying either of those cards, so I don't really care. :) But it will be nice to see the new fastest cards.

*edit - Also, Nvidia has shown us with the GTX480 that they have no problem labeling a card at a lower number than what the card actually uses. I thought there was a review out there that showed the GTX480 pulling over 300 watts in Crysis, nevermind Furmark.

Two 8 pin connections means one of two things - either Nvidia disregarded the PCIe spec to make absolutely sure they had the fastest dual card, or it will remain within spec but will be touted as being highly overclockable like the gtx460 was.

@ Keys - My guess is there are an uneven number of memory chips on the front and back. I can't imagine they're going to release a dual gtx560 part for what would be about the same price as a gtx580. This is definitely a GF110 based card, probably 2 gtx570's clocked at 675-690mhz or so.

What if they stacked chips? They can double up that way with less PCB space (albeit with more PCB layers).

Haha, what?
