EVGA Motherboards! WOW-

Monarch sells both boards. They are likely very close to the nV reference designs.
 
The BFG is a rebadged Chaintech.

It probably has a better bundle and better components on board though, plus BFG's awesome tech support and warranty.
 
Budget/Cheap boards still sell the most. Not everyone has the money to upgrade to the latest and greatest. Theres plenty of socket 754 AMD and Semprons out there

Hmmm..... I thought it's layout looked familiar. 🙂 The chaintech board is $60 cheaper, I would not spend that extra money unless BFG was makeing the things here in the USA.
 
Many NF3 board revert to DDR333 if three DIMM slots are populated. That's why many companies stick with 2 slots (the third is wasted most of the time).
 
I have 2 DIMM slots on my mainboard, and only one is populated. I have plans for the second slot, but not for the third.
However, I might think having a "reserve" slot would be good
 
Ummm... floppy connector in the MIDDLE of the motherboard? I can understand it being somewhere low, or even below the last PCI slot a-la cheapie Chaintech, since I can run a long floppy cable UNDER the motherboard and peek it out at the connector. But right under the CPU, that's wack, yo.

All of eVGA's video cards are of refrence design, so it would make sence that they would design a refrence motherboard.

This eVGA board will be the next one I use for a budget PC build. I will let you all know how it goes. Appears to an incredible board for stability (although no one seems to have reviewed it yet), but then again when you are building for friends/family, you WANT rock stability. I was using Soltek, but this S754 board appears to be a better choice (although I never had trouble with the Soltek nForce3 250Gb board I used for budget builds, but eVGA has a good selling point on the polymer based capacitors.)

The EVGA board is great- a stable, reliable board. I dumped my DFI NF3 LanParty UT 250BG for it. I'm not an overclocker and the DFI was overkill.
