sorry if this is a repost (searched for "lifetime,warranty,evga" but got nothing..

What began in the month of July as an invitation to voice comments and feedback on the company's community message board has become a clear path to the next level of customer satisfaction for EVGA. Our users spoke, and EVGA listened. Enriching its already ample stable of services available to its customers, EVGA responded with the Lifetime Warranty. The new warranty program applies to all retail EVGA graphics cards and affords the original purchaser lifetime coverage for as long as they own their card. The new program will retroactively begin June 22nd, 2005, extending lifetime coverage to the newly released retail GeForce 7800-based graphics cards.

It's a good reason to go with them but unfortunately I hear their 7800 cooling solutions are quite loud compared to some other OEMs.
 
@Schadenfroh, their warranty follows the card.

i dunno about loud, mine isn't at all. i thought they were all still using reference coolers anyway?

use the step up, the 7800gt should be out soon. you have 90 days to step up, you get full retail back on the card.

thats what i did with my 6600gt agp 🙂 they gave me back 180 for it plus the $20 rebate that had already come.
 
I have an EVGA 6800GT, can't complain about it. This sort of warranty in the future makes me further interested in future purchases with them.
 
I don't have lifetime, but I figure that in 2 years when my 2 year warrenty runs out, It won't matter much for my 6800GT. I overclocked it anyways so dope warrenty void!
 
Cool. Bought my GTX on the 23rd of June, just barely got in on the deal.

I've had no problems with eVGA, and I don't notice the card being that loud. Probably cause you can't hear anything else over my 110CFM Delta. I honestly don't mind the noise, considering my system runs at 43C under full load.

I get taking over by BFG's lifetime warrenty

eVGA did the right decision... another customer from me 🙂

For our retail Graphics Card products purchased on or after June 22, 2005, EVGA will provide a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser of each graphics card that the product will not suffer, in material or workmanship, from any defect that adversely affects the performance of the graphics card. This lifetime warranty is valid for the life of the graphics card, so long as the original purchaser owns the card, based upon the following conditions:

Lifetime Warranty is for all retail Graphics Card products ending in the part numbers AX, DX, or FX
There is no physical damage to the PCB, GPU, or components

This is great news. I'm in the queue to step up from my current 6800GT to a 7800GTX. Good to know the new card will have a lifetime warranty. I've been satisfied with eVGA's customer support, and this just takes them up another notch. 🙂

interesting, their 1+1 warranty followed the card not the original owner.
 
evga basically makes reference cards with reference fans.

some reference stuff is pretty loud, i guess it depends on what you consider loud. the evga 6600gt pci-e i had , was significantly maybe 3 times as loud as my asus 6600gt. but thats the reference design for you, xfx used it too and theirs was also loud.

technically, the warranty has always been for the original owner
