I was considering the FTW edition when I bought my 1070, it looked like a nice card. Also in consideration was the MSI Gaming, which I decided upon, and the Zotac AMP edition. At the time the EVGA cards were OOS I believe, and the MSI card had the best deal, glad I did not go with EVGA this time around. If I do go with another Nvidia card as an upgrade later on, I would definitely consider MSI and Zotac again, not so sure about EVGA though.

I NEVER recommend EVGA. The biggest reason I state is simple. They're the largest OEM for Nvidia. They have the least incentive to try to win customers. Hence why you see all of the other OEMs work harder. Those trying to take the seat of the king are going to give you more for your money. That's just business. So I use that as best I can in all my purchasing decisions.

Looks like with the announcement of the 1080 ti, I'm going to do the 100 upgrade to the FTW2 1070 and eventually do the step up in the next 90 days. Going to hopefully be 250 or so out of pocket total.

I just received my ICX upgrade approved email for the 1080 FTW. I plan on upgrading to 1080 Ti but and will lose about $350 per card. I would end up losing the same amount of money if I tried to sell the 1080 FTW myself and buy the 1080 Ti. EVGA will require me to take the long way - first take ownership of the ICX card, and then initiate the step up program (not sure how long that will take since the Ti just came out). It is costly (especially for 2 cards), but I felt bad that it wasn't that long ago that I purchased the FTW cards. Once I have the Ti cards, I will stop there for a few years.

I said screw it and sold my 1070 and purchased a 1080Ti. Wasn't going to go without a card for the ICX exchange and a second time for the step-up program. I'm also not going to buy an EVGA product again after this.
