Not bad for a 96 stream processor, 320-bit memory interface card. Ideal for those of us that may not have a huge monitor.

 
Yep, the two cards are actually quite close with advantages, and drawbacks in different areas. The 9600 GT is an awesome card, but if you can't find one that cheap, or if you already have a 8800 GTS 320mb, this deal is pretty good to go SLI.

With either card, you're probably gaming at resolutions below 1920x1200 though for best results.
 
The 9600gt actually is on par (<1% avg better) with the 640meg GTS, so it's quite a bit better than the 320. There are a few instances where the 320 beats it, but they are almost exclusively at very unlikely settings. Combine that with the 9600gt running much cooler and consuming something like half the power, and it's a fairly easy choice.
 
And then there's the rare 8800gts 640mb with a few extra shaders. (eg, the EVGA one with "96+" shaders has 112). So performance goes

actually look at the box on the side... where it says "$29 used and new" Amazon's offer is listed in there for some reason. Normally if amazon has the lowest price (rebate or not) it should occupy the buy box... just looks like a glitch right now...
