I get around 3000PPD if I leave my rig in sig on 24/7...5000 to 6000 PPD for a GTX260 seems a bit on the low side. But then the shaders on the GTX2XX are clocked a couple hundred Mhz slower than the 9XXX.
 
9600GT gets lower ppd than the G92/GT200 cards. Only 48 shaders versus 96/112/128 on G92 and 192/216/240 on GT200 cards really hurts performance.

My 9800GTX+ cranks nearly 6k ppd and my shiny new GTX 260/216 hits about 8k ppd (with shaders pushed up to 1620mhz).
